FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW ME, MY NAME IS MYASIA ALIAH REID. oF COURSE I AM A FRESHMAN, AND I ATTEND ELIZABETH CITY STATE UNIVERSITY....HOME OF THE MIGHTY VIKINGS...LOL. I AM WRITING THIS NOTE TO INFORM THOSE WHO I HAVEN'T COME ACROSS ON CAMPUS, THAT I AM RUNNING FOR MS FRESHMAN!
MANY PEOPLE MIGHT THINK THAT MS. FRESHMAN IS ALL ABOUT THE ROYAL COURTS, AND JUST SMILING FOR THE CAMERA. BUT I FEEL OTHERWISE. IT IS MS. FRESHMANS DUTY TO HAVE A VOICE, OWN UP TO HER NAME, AND BE APART OF THE SERVICES REQUIRED. IN OTHER WORDS, SHE IS TO ATTEND MEETINGS LIKE ANY OTHER MEMBER OF SGA OR THE STUDENT COUNCIL. I BELIEVE THAT I CAN UPHOLD THESE STANDARDS.
IVE HAD MANY EXPERIENCES IN BEING APART OF STUDENT GOVERNMENT, AND STUDENT COUNCIL, SO I KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE WHEN SOMEONE HAS A JOB, AND DOESN'T DO THE JOB. DURING MY HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE, I RAN FOR PRESIDENT FOR THREE YEARS, AND I BECAME PRESIDENT THE THIRD TIME AROUND, BECAUSE THOSE WHO HAD THE TITLE COULD NOT PERFORM THE DUTIES GIVEN. I ON THE OTHER HAND WORKED TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY, AND WAS GOOD AT IT.

FUNDRAISERS, FOR THE HOMELESS
( CLOTHING, FOOD, AND TOYS FOR THE CHILDREN).

ATTENDED ALL MEETINGS
( EVEN WHEN I WASN'T THE CLASS PRESIDENT.)
MANY MIGHT ASK WHY I CHOSE TO RUN FOR MS. FRESHMAN AND NOT PRESIDENT. IM RUNNING FOR MS. FRESHMAN BECAUSE IT'S SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT. IVE BEEN A PRESIDENT, IVE BEEN A SECRETARY, AND A MEMBER AT LARGE. IVE ALSO HEARD MANY STORIES ABOUT HOW PEOPLE TAKE THE "MS. FRESHMAN" TITLE AND MAKE IT WHAT IT'S NOT. AS MENTIONED BEFORE THERE ARE MORE JOBS MS. FRESHMAN SHOULD OWN UP TO, AND I THINK IM THE CANDIDATE.
I AM ALSO A VOICE FOR THE CLASS OF 2011. IF SOMEONE WANTS SOMETHING, IT WOULD BE MY DUTY TO HELP GET IT. NOT JUST THE PRESIDENT, SECRETARY..ETC. WE ALL ARE HERE TO WORK TOGETHER SO THAT WE'LL HAVE THE BEST COLLEGE EXPERIENCE EVER. BECAUSE REMEMBER COLLEGE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT...
Good afternoon Everyone,
My name is MyAsia Reid, and I am you current MISS FRESHMAN CLASS QUEEN for the 2007- 2008 school year. I have had a wonderful experience being the face that represents not only MY class, the Class of 2011, but my school Elizabeth City State University also. I have proved that being the Queen of the Class is not all about having the title and wearing it, or to just smile for the people. I have DARED TO BE DIFFERENT. I have attended the meetings required by Student Government, represented my class and the school with a positive attitude, VIKING PRIDE, and of course JUST BEING ME.
My Journey as Miss Freshmen has been a great one. I have traveled to Atlanta Georgia, and Raleigh North Carolina to Support Miss ECSU during her pageants, and have met many new people. I have met many celebrities like Carl Thomas, and Judge Hatchett. I have also been trained to know what a Queen is all about. I have showed much dedication during my reign whether everyone on the Royal Court was there or not. I want to show those running that we should all be one, in representing our school during pageants or school gatherings, because I have worn My Sash, and I have worked my title.
Being exposed to new things has taught me to always be yourself, whether you have style, or creativity, be a leader and not a follower, and to perform 100 percent. I have not changed in order to run for any office, and I do not plan to.
A Queen should know how to be presentable AT ALL TIMES, and represent themselves with the utmost, highest RESPECT. I have respected my peers, stayed involved in various activities, continued to be active in my scholarship program, and still maintain a 3.5 Grade Point Average. I believe that I have met the requirements thus far, and I am looking forward to experiencing, and learner greater things on a different level.
